What does “dinnerware safe” mean

Dinnerware safe means the item can go in the dishwasher. Handwashing is usually best for ceramics, but if it’s labeled “dinnerware safe” it’s dishwasher-safe.
What does “food safe” mean

Food safe means the glazes contain no toxic ingredients and won’t leach into your food or drink, so they don’t pose a health risk.
Can I use my ceramic dish for cooking and baking

Yes — but ceramics can’t take thermal shock. Don’t move a cold dish into a hot oven or plunge a hot dish into cold water. Change temperatures gradually to avoid cracking. To use in the oven, warm the dish as the oven preheats, add ingredients to the hot dish, then bake.
